Cleaning your mattress, Itch relief, Stain Remover, Gnat Trapper

Cleaning Your Mattress

*Vacuum the mattress at least 2 times a month.
This helps to keep it clean by the sheer fact that when it does get wet, there is less matter in the dirt to cause it to stain.

*Stains
Spray it with a citrus type cleaner and let it set for about five minutes (You can make your own with vinegar, water, & citrus oil, or lemon oil). Afterward, blot (don't rub) as much of the cleaner out as you can using a clean, white, absorbent cloth. A mild dish detergent can also be used.

*Blood Stains
Use hydrogen peroxide. Apply to the mattress and blot it while it is bubbling. This may not remove all the stain, but will help to lessen it. Be sure to blot it with a clean, white, dry cloth. Try taking your mattress outside on a bright, sunny day and let the sun dry it out

*Colored Stains
Create a baking soda solution. Mix one part baking soda and two parts cold water in a large bowl to make a solution. Apply it on the area using a clean cloth and let it sit for 30 minutes. Use a cloth damped in cold water to rinse the remaining solution and then apply a dry towel to absorb the moisture

*Urine Stains (for the potty training days)
Blot up as much of the wetness as you can. Pour baking soda over it & let it sit for 12-24 hours, and then vacuum it up. The odor will absorb in the baking soda.

Home Made Bite relief

You will need:

1 cup of 100% aloe vera gel
1 cup of rubbing alcohol
1-2 peeled garlic cloves

Warm up the aloe vera gel in a pan, and then put in a glass jar. Add the rubbing alcohol & garlic cloves. Close the lid, shake to mix. Store in your fridge & you can use it for up to 6 months.

Gnat trapper

You will need:

A glass jar (You can recycle an empty spaghetti jar)
Apple Cider Vinegar
Dawn Dish Soap
Plastic Wrap

Fill the bottom of the jar with about 1 inch of Apple Cider Vinegar. Add 4-5 drops of dawn, then place a piece of plastic wrap & secure it with a rubber band. Poke some small holes in the plastic wrap. Keep an eye out on it & watch the gnats find their way in there. Refresh your apple cider about once a week

Stain Remover

You will need:

1 tsp. Dawn dishwashing detergent,
3-4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide,
2 tablespoons of baking soda

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Pour mixture directly on to your stain, use a toothbrush or a laundry brush to work on the stain, then rinse & wash with laundry. Works especially great on grease stains & yellow underarm stains.
